Salix Animal Health, LLC, (Deerfield, FL) has issued a voluntary recall of their dog treats, Good ‘n’ Fun Beefhide Chicken Sticks due to possible salmonella contamination.
The recalled dog treats were distributed nationwide to Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar retail stores with the following information:

According to the press release published on the FDA’s website, no other product is affected by this announcement at this time.
Salmonella is not only potentially dangerous to animals who ingest contaminated products. There is also a potential risk to humans if they handle such contaminated products.
